About Us:
Telling stories that create hope,
and inspire action.

NewStory Ventures is currently developing projects for all platforms that address timely political/social/economic/cultural issues. Projects must have an imaginative and powerful story that can provoke positive societal change.

Current Projects:

Seeds of Compassion: Centered around a 4 day event in Seattle with His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Reverend Desmond Tutu, Seeds of Compassion explores the role of compassion in our modern world. Cutting edge neuroscience makes a compelling case for the pivotal role of compassion in brain development while average people are being called to compassionate action. What does all this mean? Why is it significant? Is compassion a new social movement?

The New Field: A new series on environmental issues and lifestyle choices. Produced in partnership with Global Village Media, GreatFull Productions, and PBJS.

John Muir and the New World: A feature length documentary, co-produced with GreatFull Productions and Global Village Media, on the extraordinary life and influence of this one man in American history. John Muir has always been one of the tall trees in environmentalism and western ecological thinking. He was one of the first conservationists in American history and is still regarded widely as the founder of the conservation movement in this country (including the Sierra Club).

Common Fire: An educational documentary series based on the award winning books “Common Fire” and “Leadership Can be Taught” by Sharon Daloz Parks.

Deep Down: A feature-length documentary about Yoga, as told by its most dynamic, popular teachers, and as seen in the life-changing experiences of some of its 17 million students. Some time in the last ten years, Yoga went from crunchy, New Age fringe to smooth, marketable mainstream. In four years alone, students increased more than 400%. Why? What happened? Deep Down isn’t about ancient India, or esoteric texts or rituals, but about right here, right now. It’s about the role Yoga is playing in a pivotal moment in human history, when global interconnectivity is fostering an awareness – however “inconvenient” – of how our individual behaviors effect our own lives, our culture, and our environment.
